In 1918, the Ichikawa Brothers Trading Company was formed. In 1948 with the manufacturing of vacuum bottles, they became Kyowa Manufacturing. In 1961, they adopted the elephant as their corporate logo, and changed their name to Zojirushi. (ZO means elephant in Japanese, which symbolizes strength, intelligence and familiarity).
The one thing that has not changed over the years, is the commitment and pride placed into the workings of all Zojirushi products.
